The Vanguard 15
What can we say about these excellent boats? For a
relatively
small investment (under $6,000 new) you can own a simple,
fast, stable, fun-to-sail, fully equipped boat with a dolly and a
storage cover! WYC has plenty of space available for members
to keep V15s (which are stored on their dollies) near to the
water's edge. So whenever the spirit moves you, you can quickly
rig "your boat," roll her down the ramp easily (weighs 190lbs fully
rigged) and feel the wind in the sails.
The
V-15 hull shape was designed to plane easily in moderate
air. The result is a hull that can be sailed competitively by crews
ranging from 260 to 340 pounds (two adults, one adult and two kids or three
kids). The wide, flat stern provides stability and control in all wind and sea
conditions. At the end of the season, it’s a snap to unrig and transport on a

We are gearing up for our 3rd season of Vanguard 15
sailing at Wianno! Last year our fleet of "V15s" grew to 13, and more boats may
join the fleet this season. See prior page for the racing program at WYC for
2007.

WYC owns a V15 that is available for member use after June 22. To reserve this boat for a test drive, contact the Club Steward at 508-428-2232, then join the fleet for a race or just sail around the bay to see how she goes.
